Apple Dessert

This apple dessert has the cozy flavours of apples, cinnamon and brown sugar surrounded by a soft, moist cake. It completes a winter meal perfectly.

Apple Pudding

Serve this warm with a scoop of ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups All-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup Butter
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • ¾ cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 2-3 Cooking apples peeled and thinly sliced

Topping

  • 1/3 cup Brown sugar
  • ½ tsp Ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Grease 8×8 inch baking pan.
  • Prepare apple slices and set aside.
  • Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Cut in butter until crumbly.
  • Make well in center.
  • In another bowl, beat egg until frothy.
  • Mix in milk and vanilla.
  • Pour into well and stir until just moistened.
  • Gently stir in apple slices.
  • Pour into greased pan and spread to the edges.
  • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over top.
  • Bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes or until center is set.
  • Serve warm with ice cream.
