Servings: 12 biscuits

Equipment
- 1 cookie sheet
- 1 pastry blender
- 1 bowl medium
Ingredients
- 2 cups All purpose flour sifted before measuring
- 4 tsp Baking powder
- ½ tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 2 tbsp Shortening
- ¾ cup Milk
Instructions
- Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
- Cut in butter and shortening with a pastry blender, two knives or a fork until it resembles coarse oatmeal.
- Add milk. Using a fork, mix into a dough. If needed, add up to 2 tbsp of milk, 1 tbsp at a time. The mixture can still be a bit crumbly.
- Dump out onto a lightly floured surface and knead dough less than 5 times so it holds together. The less you handle the dough, the better.
- Pat down to ¾ inch thick and cut with a 2-inch cookie cutter.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 425°F for 15 minutes.
- Serve hot from the oven.
