Cast Iron Skillet Directions:
Yes, you can also make these in you cast iron skillet!
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Melt butter in 8-inch cast iron skillet.
- In a medium mixing bowl, measure in sugar.
- Add melted butter from skillet and stir to mix well.
- Return skillet to stove top to keep hot (but not smoking) while mixing batter.
- Stir in egg and vanilla.
- Measure in remaining ingredients and stir to combine well.
- Spread into hot skillet. (The secret to prevent the blondies from sticking is to pour the batter into a hot skillet)
- Bake in preheated oven for 18 mins, until sides show signs of pulling away from the pan.
Icing:
(Icing is not necessary, but certainly makes these blondies almost sinful!)
2 tbsp Butter
¼ cup Brown sugar, packed
2 tbsp Milk
1 cup Confectioners’ (icing) sugar
Mix to combine well. Spread evenly over mostly cooled blondies. Sprinkle with a few finely chopped walnuts.
