Brown Sugar Sauce
This “not too sweet” brown sugar sauce takes desserts such as gingerbread, blueberry cake or spiced applesauce cake to a whole new level. It’s great on ice cream, too!

Ingredients
- 1 cup Brown sugar packed
- 1 ½ tbsp All-purpose flour
- 1/8 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Boiling water
- 1 tbsp Butter
- ½ tsp Vanilla
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, flour and salt.
- Add boiling water and cook over medium low heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
- Stir in butter and vanilla.
- Serve warm over dessert or ice cream.
- This stores well for several days, if it lasts that long!
- Reheat on stove top or put in the microwave for a few seconds.
