Festive Cranberry Sauce

Festive cranberry sauce

Add a little flare to your cranberry sauce with flavours of the Christmas season.

Makes 3-4 cups.

INGREDIENTS:

½ cup                         Water

1 cup                          Granulated sugar

2 cups                        Cranberries, fresh or frozen

½ cup                         Orange juice

½                                 Cinnamon stick

DIRECTIONS:

  • If using fresh cranberries, rinse them and pick out any that don’t look fresh.
  • In a heavy saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  • Add cranberries, orange juice and cinnamon stick.
  • Boil gently for 10 minutes until the cranberries pop!
  • Remove the cinnamon stick.
  • Allow sauce to cool completely before serving.
  • Can be made ahead and stored for a few weeks in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
