Add a little flare to your cranberry sauce with flavours of the Christmas season.
Makes 3-4 cups.
INGREDIENTS:
½ cup Water
1 cup Granulated sugar
2 cups Cranberries, fresh or frozen
½ cup Orange juice
½ Cinnamon stick
DIRECTIONS:
- If using fresh cranberries, rinse them and pick out any that don’t look fresh.
- In a heavy saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Add cranberries, orange juice and cinnamon stick.
- Boil gently for 10 minutes until the cranberries pop!
- Remove the cinnamon stick.
- Allow sauce to cool completely before serving.
- Can be made ahead and stored for a few weeks in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
