What a fantastic combination of sweet and salty yumminess. This is a perfect treat to give as a gift. Here’s my version of a recipe I found in a Gooseberry Patch recipe book.
Ingredients:
3 cups pretzel sticks
3 cups corn and rice cereal squares
¾ cups pecan halves
½ cup whole cashews
½ cup dried cranberries
1 cup red and green candy-coated chocolates
12 oz white Belgium chocolate melting wafers
Directions:
Combine all ingredients except chocolate in a large mixing bowl.
Melt white chocolate in a double boiler or microwave for 1-2 minutes and stir until smooth. Some white chocolate wafers do not melt down nicely that is why I used the white Belgium chocolate wafers. I have also melted down white chocolate baking squares with no problem in the past and they would work well in this recipe too.
Slowly pour melted chocolate over mixture and gently stir to coat mixture lightly and evenly.
Spoon out onto wax paper. Cool to set. Break apart into bite size pieces and store in airtight container.
