April showers bring May flowers!

April was a very rainy and windy month this year but in between the wind and the rain my husband and I managed to get the yard cleaned up.

Now that the yard work is done, I’m just itching to get into the garden!

Yesterday was the first beautiful day of the year so I took advantage and headed outdoors – without a winter coat, scarf and toque!

After I cleaned out my cold room, I added some top soil to my raised garden and tidied up my perennial garden. The rhubarb is starting to make an appearance, and so are a few stray tulips!

There are a few things I can plant now. Today we will spread manure over the garden and till it in so I can get started on some early planting!
