This Swiss steak supreme makes a rich gravy and can be made in the slow cooker for an easy weekday meal. I serve it over mashed potatoes with a garden salad on the side.
Serves 6.
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups Tomato sauce
1 tsp Dried whole oregano
1 tsp Salt
½ tsp Ground pepper
1 ¾ lb Beef round steak, trim fat, cut into portion sizes or 1-inch cubes
1 Large onion, diced
1 Green pepper, diced
1 ½ cups Small whole fresh mushrooms, cut in half or one can of mushrooms
DIRECTIONS:
- Combine first four ingredients in small bowl.
- Place steak in slow cooker. Pour 1/3 of sauce over and between pieces.
- Add vegetables to slow cooker evenly over top.
- Add remaining sauce.
- Cover.
- Cook on low for eight hours.
